Transfer Gossip
Newcastle apparently want £8m for their wayward winger Kieron Dyer as his Toon future looks to be at an end following his alleged refusal to play on the right against Boro. Most newspapers agree that they'll struggle to get anyone to pay that price - but the Daily Mirror claim both Man United and Arsenal are interested but could baulk at his £50,000-a-week wages.
HAMANN AND FINNAN OUT?
The arrival of Xabi Alonso at Anfield could spell the end of Dietmar Hamann's Liverpool career. The Guardian claims that the Reds will listen to offers for the German midfielder. Meanwhile; it seems certain that right-back Steve Finnan will join Tottenham for £2m as a replacement for his Irish international teammate Stephen Carr.
'VILLA SURE ON BEATTIE'
Aston Villa believe that James Beattie will move to the Midlands for just £6m and will not raise their bid, says the Daily Mirror. They are said to be confident that Beattie will be at the club in time for the weekend's clash with West Brom. This is despite having one £6m bid turned down and another £4m-plus-Marcus Allback deal rejected.
MOYES TO QUIT?
David Moyes could quit Everton because of the power struggle in the boardroom, says The Sun. The Scotsman is apparently getting increasingly frustrated at the wrangling between Bill Kenwright and Paul Gregg that will still leave him with no money to spend. He said this week it was the 'hardest job in football'.
